A TV wall can be simple and still look good. These four RichVaugh project photos show a few ways to mix stone-look panels, dark slats and warm wood tones. Some rooms have a big marble pattern. Others keep the wall quiet.

Here are five small ideas you can use when planning your own TV wall.

1. Give the TV a clear background

In this room, a grey stone-look section sits right behind the screen. Dark slats cover the wall around it, including the return beside the window. The centre stays easy to see, even with the TV switched off.

We like how the low cabinet leaves some floor showing. The little lamp and plants are enough. No need to fill every corner.

2. Let one marble pattern do the work

5. Sort out the small details early

Before installing, mark the TV size, cabinet height, sockets and light positions on the wall. Sit on the sofa and check the screen height too. A layout can look different when you are sitting down.
